Job Description

Job Summary

Responsible to provide support and direction in a leadership role to direct reports. Provide information to team members and answer questions from members. Review accounts for thoroughness and accuracy, and escalation if necessary.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following:

•Oversee all Billing and Collection processes and work product for accuracy and compliance.
•Monitor Key Performance Indicators. Supervise, coach and take necessary action to facilitate achievement of performance targets.
•Develop and ensure policies and procedures are keep up to date
•Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state laws, rules, and regulations related to patient account service activities.
•Interact with internal team members and corporate customers to ensure high levels of responsiveness in order to collect outstanding account balances.
•Other Duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises employees in the PBS Billing and Collections department. Carries out Supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees, planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees addressing complaints and resolving problems. For Exempt Managers: Managers that carry out these responsibilities for two or more employees will have significant input in hiring and termination decisions.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

•High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and five to ten years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
•Associate’s degree (A.A/A.S.) from two-year college or technical school.
•3 years of progressive experience in a supervisory role
•5 years of experience and knowledge of medical accounts receivable processes.
•Knowledge of federal and state rules and regulations regarding collections, filing insurance claims, and filing for reimbursement from federal health care programs.

•Strong interpersonal skills and a high degree of collaboration at all levels
•Strong analytical, numerical, and reasoning skills
•Strong leadership skills such as cooperation, independent judgment, the ability to delegate and resolve conflicts, adaptability, and strong work ethic.

Computer Skills

•Proficient with Microsoft Suite , including Excel, Word, and Outlook
